After more than two decades at the top of Adelaide’s detailing scene, Steve Vozzo raises the bar with SV Auto Salon’s next-generation workshop
2025 was a year of change for SV Auto Salon. After five years as one of Adelaide’s leading automotive detailing and paint protection operations, owner Steve Vozzo made the big move to a new workshop in Hendon.
“The new workshop gives us dedicated areas for detailing, PPF (Paint Protection Film) installation, tinting and proper correction lighting,” Steve explains enthusiastically. “It’s cleaner, more controlled and allows us to operate at a higher level. It’s all about improving efficiency while raising standards.”
After visiting the new workshop, it’s clear to see Steve isn’t bullshitting. There are three fully enclosed air-conditioned booths, allowing Steve and his staff to work comfortably no matter the temperature outside, along with a new state-of-the-art wash bay allowing easy drainage and a four-poster portable hoist. Not only has Steve brought SV Auto Salon into the future, but the workshop doubles as a showroom, which adds an element of prestige to the business.
“We designed it so that when customers walk in, they see their car under proper lighting conditions,” Steve says. “Good lighting exposes everything – so if a car looks flawless in our workshop, it’s flawless anywhere. It creates that ‘reveal’ moment when customers collect their car.”
A lover of automobiles since his youth, it wasn’t just about speed for Steve: “It was the presence, the sound, and the pride of owning something special.” This obsession with keeping his car looking perfect led him to start his first detailing business at the age of 20.
Since then, Steve has owned and operated several detailing businesses, car washes and cafes across Adelaide, gaining a reputation for his premium workmanship and high level of customer service. After taking a break from the industry in 2020 when COVID hit, past clients began reaching out to Steve. “That’s when I realised there was still a gap in the market for proper, high-end workmanship with no shortcuts,” he says. “I returned with a clearer vision and higher standards than ever – and that’s how SV Auto Salon was built.”
Building his business around one key principle – “Do it properly or don’t do it at all” – SV Auto Salon quickly established itself in the upper echelon of the state’s detailing industry. Services include multi-stage paint correction, 10-year ceramic borophene coatings, full PPF, interior protection, wheel coatings and premium window tinting.

For Steve, it’s about making sure every vehicle that comes through SV Auto Salon “leaves at a standard we would expect for our own cars.” That means Steve and his team use only the best products and focus on doing the job right from the foundation up with no shortcuts.
Check out SV Auto Salon’s website or social media pages, something Steve acknowledges has “played a big role in growing” the name of the business, and you’ll see the work speaks for itself with the roster of cars they’ve detailed, including Porsches, Ferraris, Dodges, Mercedes and more. But it’s not just luxury cars that find their way through the doors of SV Auto Salon, with the team priding themselves on delivering quality at an affordable level.
“Whether it’s a Ferrari or someone’s daily driver, the standard doesn’t change. Every customer deserves high-quality workmanship. While we work on a lot of high-end and performance cars, we’re here for anyone who genuinely cares about their vehicle.”
This is one of the reasons why Steve is well respected amongst the automotive fraternity. His role is to deliver high-end service to all his customers. It doesn’t matter if they drive a Bugatti Tourbillon or a Toyota Corolla; they will be treated the same. Steve is also big on educating his customers on the work he does and what really goes on behind the scenes, which he often posts about on social media.
“Most customers don’t see the hours of preparation that go into proper paint correction and protection. If someone is significantly cheaper, something is being skipped. Education builds trust – and trust builds long-term relationships.”
When discussing his work, it’s clear that the reaction Steve gets from customers when they pick up their cars is what makes it worth all the hard work. “Taking something already great and elevating it to another level and seeing the customer’s reaction when they pick it up. That’s what makes it worthwhile,” he says with a grin.
