How did you get into the real estate game?

I was born into the industry. I began my career from within my family's real estate business straight after finishing school. This is the only ‘job’ I’ve ever had, and I love it.

The residential real estate market has gone through a lot of changes in the last five to six years. What type of market are we looking at in 2025?

A more traditional market. Stock is sitting on the market for slightly longer, although there’s less stock. This means there are good buying opportunities for purchasers and vendors should get strategy, presentation and pricing correct.

You specialise in selling luxury real estate. What is different at the pointy end of the market?

The stakes are high for both purchaser and vendor, but at the end of the day, it's all relative. These properties are often, dare I say, more unique, with greater specifications and/or scale, so it generally takes longer to find the home's buyer. You just have to trust the process.

What do you ask your vendors to prioritise when preparing for market?

Every property will require something different – be it a quick tidy up inside and out, a new front fence or head-to-toe styling. Fundamentally, you are asking your vendor to trust you and your expertise to get the very best result for their property.

You’re also an auctioneer and call many of the WILLIAMS LUXURY auctions. What are the benefits of sale by auction and why do you love it?

There are several benefits. Common positives from vendors’ eyes are the fact that there is no ceiling on how much the home can sell for, it’s a cash unconditional contract that offers pure transparency. I personally love the atmosphere of an auction. I thrive on the joy that the purchasers and vendors have following their desired result.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?

Selling and buying can be one of life's more stressful experiences. I love working with vendors and purchasers and ensuring their transition into their next stage of life is as stress-free as possible.

Any advice for those attempting to enter the market for the first time?

Do your research on areas of the market you would like to enter, speak to your bank/broker to know what you can afford and what timeframes you need to work towards for finance approval/settlement process, and register your details with agents in the areas you wish to buy in. All these factors will help you to stay ahead of the game.
